Contractor I.D. Badges

Starting today, as you come through our headquarters in Louisville, all Contractors, and qualified drivers need to stop in and see Libby in the company store to receive your campus I.D. Badge.  Here are the details:

  • All contractors, and qualified drivers receive an I.D. Badge.   Your first badge is free.  If your badge is lost or damaged, any additional badges will cost $10 each.
  • Any legal spouse that rides on the truck with a contractor, will receive a badge for free.  We will need to see a valid form of I.D., and we will need to verify that the spouse is an authorized passenger on the unit.
  • All authorized passengers that are not legal spouses, can obtain an I.D. badge.  Each individual badge will cost $10.00.  We will need a valid form of I.D., and we will need to verify that each person is an authorized passenger.  Authorized passengers are not required to obtain an I.D. Badge.  The Authorized Passenger will need to sign in at the front desk, and be accompanied by the contractor, or Mercer employee at all times while on campus, if they do not wish to obtain an I.D. Badge.

If you have any other questions, please contact Contractor Relations.

Have a great day, and GO MERCER!

Please read the attached document for information regarding where to park when visiting the Louisville yard the remainder of the year. Parking guidelines are pretty similar to other years with a few minor changes. These guidelines will be enforced November 1 through January 6. Thank you everyone and have a safe day!

Mercer Contractor I.D. Badge

Good afternoon from Mercertown!  We just wanted to check in and give everyone a heads up about an important change that is coming up.

Starting November 1st, all Mercer Contractors will be issued an official Mercer I.D. badge.  This badge will be almost identical to the I.D. badges that our campus employees wear to access each building.  On and after November 1st, as contractors come to Louisville, they will need to visit with Libby Netherton in the company store.  She will be able to take your picture and assign a badge to you.  Libby is available from 8am-12:30pm, and 1:30pm-4:45pm, Monday - Friday.

Your I.D. Badge will allow you to not have to physically sign in, and get a wristband anymore.  You will just simply scan your badge in at the door and walk in!

We have made the decision to assign these badges for a couple of reasons.  First and foremost, we want to keep all Mercer Employees, Contractors, and visitors safe while on campus.  Secondly, we want our contractors to have access to other buildings, without the inconvenience of knocking on doors.  The lobbies in the Truck Ops building, and in the Recruiting/Safety building will remain unlocked during normal business hours.  With the I.D. Badge, contractors will now be able to access the Truck Pay Building, the Claims and Insurance building, and Freight Operations during normal business hours, without having to knock on doors, and wait to be allowed in.

Please remember that Libby will NOT be ready to start assigning badges until November 1st.  If you have any further questions, please contact our Contractor Relations Department.

Have a great day, and GO MERCER!!!

Flood wall in Louisville

Please be advised, if you have been to Mercertown in the last year, you are probably aware that we had access to the property behind the flood wall on 12th Street and Rowan Street. We did not buy that property. We were just leasing it, and Mercer is no longer occupying that area. All of our trailers have been moved to various places in and around Mercer. If you need to drop your trailer for an extended period of time please call the facilities department and see where the best location is to drop. We are working on a plan for the upcoming UPS season and will give details on that is they get clearer. Thanks and have a great day!

Retiring = Combo for Sale

Scott is retiring so he is looking to sell his tractor/trailer. 2000 Pete 379 and 1994 Transcraft for $69,500. Please see the craigslist link below for more pictures and info.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund serves US military personnel wounded or injured in service to our country.  Supporting these heroes helps repay the debt all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made.  They are our nation’s greatest national resource and they deserve all the support that we can provide.

On Saturday October 1st we will begin our annual Veteran’s Day fundraiser with all proceeds going to The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.  This effort will last through Veterans Day, Friday November 11th, so you will have plenty of time to make your donations.  For your convenience, Staci Thomas, Debbie Hobbs or Libby Netherton will be happy to take your contributions.

For every $15 donation you will receive a Intrepid Fallen Heroes hat and every $20 donation gets an IFH shirt.

Thank you, in advance, for your contributions and your compassion.

Good morning Team Mercer!

Some significant changes that may affect many of you at ALL Federal Government Facilities are upon us.  The REAL ID Act was passed by Congress in 2005.  It was a law seeking to create a national identification system by weaving together the states’ driver-licensing systems.  Currently three states are out of compliance, and in October, another 23 states will be out of compliance.  What this means ,is if your CDL was issued in a state that is out of compliance, ALL Federal Government Facilities, including the military bases we load at, will NOT recognize your cdl as a valid form of identification.

If you have a CDL from an out of compliance state, you will need a valid TWIC card, or Passport to get into any Federal Government Facility.  Most of our contractors have a TWIC card, so the vast majority of you will still be able to get into these facilities.  If you don’t have a TWIC card, it is now more important than ever to get one, and if you have a TWIC card, make sure it is current.

Below is a list of states, and what their status is:

Noncompliant States without Extensions:

  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • Washington
