Effective July 1st, the merger of Pilot & Flying J was completed. The Mercer discount is now Retail minus 10 cents per gallon at both the Pilot & Flying J.
In order to receive this point of sale discount, you must purchase the fuel with the Mercer issued TCH card.
Unfortunately, discounts are only available at Flying J / Pilot if you are using your TCH card. We do not know when Flying J / Pilot will allow us to receive a discount with the ComData card.
Thanks for the info Jason
so does that mean that pilot is giving the discount at the pump now? if we use comdata of course,,
Ted…I’m not really sure right now. I think that they will only give the discount with a TCH card, just like Flying J. Don’t quote me yet, though. Still researching.
ok, thanks for the update,,
ARE you saying now….that PILOT will now accept the TCH card in payment for fuel… as all along they would not accept it for anything. i was in one yesterday, and they were still not taking the tch card . said their system was not set up for it
I really have no idea at this point….I was under the understanding that Pilot was taking the TCH card, and that was the only way to get the discount. I will have to do some more research.
Here’s an update: Apparently Love’s has taken over a few of these locations… Such as the Grant Street, Gary, IN FlyingJ location. It is now a Love’s! And the Pilot/Road Ranger in Lake Sration is now a Steel City location. It’s a topsy-turvy time out there right now in the TruckStop industry.
We are not getting any discount on Comdata from what Tim say we are not getting the discount for are Tags till they rebid it as of the first of july
I have used the TCH card at Pilot locations twice. Each time the cashier told me that my control number was denied. The first time this happened the woman at the register had a panic attack that i had used TCH.
Each situation required me to spend 15 minutes on the phone with TCH trying to get an auth# for the fuel I just pumped. The TCH people tell me that the 0 in front of my control number is missing, while I am looking at Pilots computer at the desk with the zero clearly entered into the system.
I would not recommend using TCH at Pilot for now.
